Kate Parkin fascinated as the skitzy, sweet-sour Pony in The Realistic Joneses, adding a vibrating high note of charming eccentricity to an altogether very strong cast.” - Denver Westword, Juliet Wittman

announced: KATE parkin as CAiTHLEEN in “bloomsday” with boulder ensemble theatre company (BETC) @ DAIRY ARTS CENTER

An old-fashioned, new-fangled Irish romance from one of America’s most prolific playwrights.

“Robert returns to Dublin to reunite with Cait, the woman who captured his heart during a James Joyce literary tour thirty-five years ago. Dancing backwards through time, the older couple retraces their steps to discover their younger selves. Through youthful Robbie and Caithleen, they relive the unlikely, inevitable events that brought them – only briefly – together. This time-traveling love story blends wit, humor, and heartache into a buoyant, moving appeal for making the most of the present before it becomes the past.”

Tickets available here.

Kate Parkin as Pony Jones + Casey Andree as John Jones + Michael Morgan as Bob Jones + Emily Paton Davies as Jennifer Jones

Kate Parkin as Pony Jones + Casey Andree as John Jones + Michael Morgan as Bob Jones + Emily Paton Davies as Jennifer Jones

“In Michael Morgan (Bob), Emily Paton Davies (Jennifer), Casey Andree (John) and Kate Parkin (Pony), director Stephen Weitz has hit the casting jackpot. I’d love to have been in on their conversations, hear their interpretations of the words they were required to say, listen to their feelings about motivation and meaning, because the resulting performances are vivid, and these actors work in beautiful synchronicity. Parkin plays flittering-fluttery Pony with beautiful, almost translucent style.” -Juliet Wittman, Denver Westword

“Parkin performs wonders in finding the arc from Pony's flitting, surface consciousness to a deep connection that ushers the dark comedy to a sweet close.” -Bob Bows, Colorado Drama

“Parkin juggles Pony’s hippie-chick persona with the deep anxiety of a suburban belle, and her frailty appeals to the equally fragile Bob. While their eventual liaison seems improbable, it sets up the friction necessary to move things along.” -Alex Miller, Onstage Colorado

“Kate Parkin is a delight in the difficult role of Pony – young, scatterbrained, talkative, and with an underlying sense of insecurity. We don’t learn much about the backgrounds of any of the characters, except for Pony.” -Barbara Peterson, Wyoming in Motion

If there was ever a video designed to make the Internet explode from joy, this is it. Los Angeles actress and self-described "Harry Potter superfan" Kate Parkin posted a video on YouTube featuring a medley of Taylor Swift songs reworked with Hogwarts-related lyrics and sung from the point of view of J.K. Rowling characters Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood and, of course, the boy wizard himself. - The Los Angeles Times

YouTube genius Kate Parkin combined two great tastes that taste more than great together — Taylor Swift and Harry Potter, to be exact — to brew the perfect parody potion. -MTV

“Bad Blood,” meet Mudblood. That's thanks to enterprising YouTuber Kate Parkin, who took several of Taylor Swift's 1989 songs and changed the lyrics into a delightful mash-up touting the values of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. -Billboard

Among the talented cast, the young lovers particularly stand out: Kate Parkin as Helena...Parkin’s body language is wonderfully expressive and her denunciation of Hermia is particularly passionate. -Los Angeles Stage and Cinema, Midsummer Night's Dream at The Odyssey Theatre
